Chester, Pa. (April 6, 2010) - Widener University (4-5, 3-1) scored 10 goals in the first quarter en route to a 21-5 win over Alvernia University (3-7, 0-4) Tuesday evening in Middle Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action at Widener.

Alvernia got three goals from Jon Lozoskie (Fallston, Md./Fallston) in the loss and 17 saves from sophomore goalie Kevin Shupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford).

Lozoskie answered the first Widener goal, but then the Pride ran off seven straight for an 8-1 lead.

Alvernia is off until the weekend when it hosts Eastern University on Saturday.
