Alvernia Caps 11-5 Regular Season With 17-7 Win

Four Players Record Hat Tricks For Crusaders

Dallas, Pa. (May 1, 2010) - A diverse offensive attack was on display once again on Saturday as Alvernia University (11-5, 7-5) got hat tricks from four different players in a 17-7 win at Misericordia University (4-11, 3-9) in Middle Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action.

In the regular season finale the Crusaders were led by Allison Bainbridge (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove), Felicia Sippel (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert), Sam Landis (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run), and Tara Walls (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) who all scored three goals each.

The Crusaders scored just six goals in the first half and held a 6-3 lead at the break, but came out with seven straight in the second half and tallied 11 total after the break.

Vicky Kearn (Merrick, N.Y./Sanford H. Calhoun) and Jenn Czarnecki (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) split time in net with Czarnecki making all five of the team's saves.

Alvernia narrowly misses out on the conference playoffs, but will await an invitation into the ECAC Tournament on Monday, May 10.
