Reading, Pa. (Nov. 12, 2011) - The Dutchmen (16-5) from Lebanon Valley scored three goals in the final 7:30 to defeat Stevens Institute of Technology (12-8) by a score of 4-3 this afternoon in ECAC Semifinal action at Schlager Memorial Field at Alvernia University.  With the win, the Dutchmen will face Alvernia tomorrow at 11:00am in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship Game.

It was the Dutchmen who struck first with a goal from Cate Cusak in the 9th minute of play.  The Ducks from Stevens netted the next three goals for the 3-1 lead with just 16 minutes remaining in the game.  Scoring for the Ducks was Marguerite Chavez (19:19), Rachel Chavez (42:24) and Grace Ridge (53:42) who absolutely ripped a shot in off a corner play assisted by Jillian Price.

Lebanon Valley started their comeback when Kristen Martzall found the back of the net in the 63rd minute after she recovered a rebound off the goalie's pad and redirected it into goal for her fourth goal of the season.  Jocelyn Novak tied the game at three in the 65th minute after a cross pass from Caitlin Vasey found Novak in front of an apparently empty net for her 33rd goal of the season.  Cusak netted her second goal of the game, the game-winner with just 1:12 remaining in regulation.  The Ducks failed to clear the ball allowing Novak to steal it and feed  pass into Cusak who finished it up nicely.

Stevens concludes their season, while the Dutchmen move on to the ECAC Championship Game to face Alvernia.  The Dutchmen defeated Alvernia 4-0 in the regular season this year, while Alvernia took the Commonwealth Semifinal match-up 5-2.
