Reading, Pa. (Nov. 13, 2011) - The Garnet from Swarthmore (13-6-1) defeated Medaille (19-4-1) this afternoon 1-0 in double overtime to take the ECAC South Championship Game at Schlager Memorial Field at Alvernia.  Micah Rose drilled a free kick off the left post and into the back of the net for the game-winner in the 104th minute.  For his efforts, Rose was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

In a game that saw 30 fouls and six yellow cards handed out, shots and corners were fairly close.  Through regulation and both overtimes, Swarthmore tallied 15 shots to Medaille's 11 and held the 6-5 advantage in corner kick opportunities.  Garnet goalie David D'Annunzio needed five saves to record his eighth shutout of the season, while Medaille goalkeeper Jimmy Frascati recorded eight saves.
