Gallagher Scores A Pair For Crusaders

Hacketstown, N.J. (Mar. 28, 2011) - Centenary College (4-1) scored five first-quarter goals and jumped out to an 8-0 lead on its way to a 14-4 win over Alvernia University (2-5) Monday afternoon in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Cyclone Field.

Alvernia cut into the lead scoring the first two goals of the third quarter, the first from Sean Boyd (Churchville, Pa./Council Rock South) and the second from Brian Ray (Cranford, N.J./Cranford), but the Cyclones came back with the next five before Colin Gallagher (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) hit the back of the net twice in the final six minutes.

Alvernia goalie Kevin Shupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) made a season-high 17 saves in net for the Crusaders.

Alvernia returns to the conferenc schedule Wednesday when it travels to Messiah College for a 7:00 p.m. faceoff.
