Messiah Tops Alvernia 17-3

Boyd Nets A Pair For Crusaders

Grantham, Pa. (Mar. 30, 2011) - Messiah College (4-2, 2-0) jumped out to an 8-0 lead through one quarter and cruised to a 17-3 win over Alvernia University (2-6, 0-3) Wednesday evening in Middle Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action at Messiah.

The Falcons tacked on three more goals in the second quarter.  Both teams scored once in the third quarter and Messiah took the fourth 5-2.

Alvernia freshman Sean Boyd (Churchville, Pa./Council Rock South) scored two goals for the Crusaders and Brian Ray (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) added the third.  Kevin Shupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) stopped 14 shots in net for the Crusaders.

Alvernia continues the conference schedule at Lycoming on Saturday.
