BOX SCORE

Reading, Pa. (Apr. 21, 2011) - FDU-Florham (10-5, 9-2) scored the last four goals of the game to steal an upset bid from Alvernia University (9-5, 6-4) Thursday afternoon in Middle Atlantic Conference women's lacrose action at Schlager Memorial Field.

The Crusaders pushed a 6-5 lead to 9-6 scoring three of four goals over a nine minute stretch that ended with 13:50 to play.  FDU stopped the run with a goal at 10:22 then scored back-to-back goals on plays from behind the net to tie the score at 9-9 with 7:22 to play.

Alvernia turned the ball over on a clear attempt late in the game and FDU's McKenzie Loughlin took the break on her own and cashed in on just her third goal of the season with 3:41 to go.

The Devils won the ensuing draw and kept the ball cycling in their own offensive zone for the rest of the game.

Alvernia junior Jenn Czarnecki (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) was terrific in net for the Crusaders turning in 13 saves.

Alvernia continues the conference schedule Tuesday hosting Eastern University.
