Etown Handles Alvernia 13-2

Reading, Pa. (Apr. 6, 2011) - Elizabethtown College (5-3, 3-2) scored three goals in each of the first two quarters then six more in the third on its way to a 13-2 win over Alvernia University (2-8, 0-5) Wednesday afternoon in Middle Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action at Schlager Memorial Field.

The Crusaders got a goal in the first from Colin Gallagher (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) and one in the third from Rick Reid (Drexel Hill, Pa./Monsignor Bonner).  The Jays had a pair of players scored three each to lead the way.

Alvernia junior Kevin Shupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) made a season-high 21 saves coming within two of his career high 23 against Manhattanville as a freshman.  Etown split time in net between two goalies who made a combined five saves.

The Crusaders continued the conference schedule Saturday at Misericordia.
