Reading, Pa. (Sept. 3, 2011) - Albright College (1-0-1) and Gwynedd-Mercy College (0-1-1) opened the 2011 Crusader Cup Women's Soccer Tournament with a 0-0, double-overtime draw Saturday afternoon at Alvernia University's Schlager Memorial Field.

The final box score was nearly as identical as the scoreboard after 110 minutes.  Both teams finished with seven corner kicks, eight fouls, and nine shots.  Albright put five of nine shots on net forcing GMC keeper Abby Reed to come up with five saves.  Albright's Olivia Giuliano stopped three to also record the shutout.  The Griffins put two shots on net in the final overtime period, but Giuliano stopped both.

The first half featured just three total shots between the two teams with none of them finding the target.  Albright steppd up the offensive pressue ripping off seven shots in the second half and Reed posted four of her five saves in the frame.

Both teams are back in action Sunday at Schlager Memorial.  Albright will face Penn State-Altoona in the opener at 11:00 a.m. and Gwynedd-Mercy will tangle with host Alvernia at 2:00 p.m.
