Nico Delgiorno's ( Columbia, Pa / Hempfield HS ) scored a game changing shorthanded strike just two minutes into the third period breaking a 1-1 deadlock tie. Delgiorno's team leading seventh goal was the game winner as the Vern sent their DVCHC rival Penn State Brandywine (2-1) to their first loss of the season.

Patrick Murray ( Cranford, NJ / Cranford HS ) was outstanding stopping 37 shots while only surrendering a fluky loose puck wrap-around that slipped beneath his leg pad. Murray is 4-0 on the season with a 0.75 goals against over that period.
The Crusaders never trailed the Blue Lions and peppered the PSU netminder totaling 38 shots. Alvernia Sophomore
Brian Callahan ( Willow Grove, Pa / Upper Moreland HS ) whistled a snap shot at the 1:45 mark of the opening period. Callahan and line mate
Jim McKelvie ( Hatfield, Pa / North Penn HS ) who assisted on the tally continue to dominate shifts and gave the Blue Lions fits containing the Vern's dynamic combination.
The Crusaders Delgiorno has been a nightmare for opponents torching the score sheet for 14 points in six games. The electric forward has been the complete package thus far showcasing timely goal scoring with precision playmaking. Delgiorno's game winner was a right circle snapper laser beam thru an over exposed five hole snapping the twine with authority.
The Crusaders will travel to Atlantic City to square off in another DVCHC clash with Richard Stockton College of New Jersey on Saturday.
