Reading, Pa. (Mar. 31, 2012) - Senior Sam Landis (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run) became the second player this week and the seventh Crusader overall to reach 100 career goals with her first of four Saturday afternoon leading Alvernia University (5-4) a 17-4 win over Arcadia University (3-5) in non-conferenc women's lacrosse action at Schlager Memorial Field.

The Crusaders used a 11-goal second half to blow open the game which was just a 6-3 lead at halftime.

Arcadia scored the first two goals of the game before the Crusaders came back with three straight--two from junior Alyssa Verrillo (North Wales, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and the third from senior Sarah George (West Chester, Pa./Hendereson).  Another Arcadia goal tied the score at 3-all and Landis broke it with a free position goal for number 100.  Landis scored again in the final minute of the half for the 6-3 lead at the break.

Arcadia scored the first goal of the second half to close within two goals, but Alvernia scored 11 unanswered to finish the game.  George finished with five goals giving her a team-best 37 for the season.  She's scored four or more in six of the Crusaders' eight games.  Nine different players scored for Alvernia on Saturday.

The Crusaders have won back-to-back games and head to Misericordia University on Monday.
