Dallas, Pa. (Apr. 2, 2012) - Senior attack Sarah George (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) scored a career-best eight goals leading Alvernia University (6-4) to a 21-12 win over Misericordia University (4-6) Monday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Misericordia.

The Crusaders better than doubled up the Cougars in the first half taking a 13-6 lead at the break.

Misericordia scored back-to-back goals with 10 minutes left in the first half to pull within a goal, 6-5, but Alvernia answered with seven of the last eight goals of the half.  George had the first goal of the game and five by halftime.  She has three straight games of at least five goals.

The teams traded goals for the first 14 minutes of the second half then a streak of four straight for the Crusaders put the game out of reach.
