Ray Scores Two As Crusaders Fall At Messiah

BOX SCORE

Grantham, Pa. (Apr. 21, 2012) - Junior Brian Ray (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) scored a pair of goals for Alvernia University (5-9, 0-4) in a 16-2 loss to Messiah College (7-6, 2-2) in Commonwealth Conference men's lacrosse action Saturday evening at Messiah.

Lightning delayed the start of the game by an hour and once it started Ray struck for the first goal of the game to give the Crusaders a 1-0 lead.  The Falcons struck for 13 goals in the first two quarters and the first in the third before Ray's second goal six minutes after halftime.

Freshman Brandon Weaver (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) played 38 minutes in relief of Kevin Shupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) and made 10 saves.

The Crusaders return to action Tuesday at Albright College.
