Reading, Pa. (Sept. 8, 2012) - On Saturday afternoon the Albright College (2-1) Lions took on the Misericordia University Cougars (3-0) at Schlager Memorial Field to begin the annual Crusader Cup. In the first game of the four-game tournament Misericordia defeated Albright by a score of 2-0.
The first goal was scored by Misericordia senior Eric Kishbaugh ten minutes into the game. As a thunder storm rolled in, the officials were forced to postpone play for a 30-minute rain delay. Following the delay, Misericordia picked up where they left off as junior Nick Ferguson launched a corner kick off an Albright defender and into the net.
Misericordia finished with eleven corner kicks and eighteen shots while Albright tallied seven corner kicks and four shots.
