Fast Start Carries Centenary To 23-4 Win

Toll Scores A Pair For Crusaders

Washington, N.J. (Feb. 27, 2013) - Centenary College (1-0) scored seven goals in the first quarter and added nine more in the second on its way to a 23-4 win over Alvernia University (0-2) Wednesday afternoon in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Warren Hills High School.

The Cyclones ripped off 22 shots in the opening quarter and scored on seven of them.  They took a 6-0 lead before Alvernia sophomore Jared Toll (St. Catherine, Ontario/Lewisburg Area) netted his first of two goals on the game.

Centenary did the same in the second quarter scoring the first six goals before an Alvernia tally from Brian Ray (Cranford, N.J./Cranford).  The Cyclones then added three more for a 16-2 lead at the break.

Alvernia goalie Brandon Weaver (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) made a career-high 17 saves in net for the Crusaders.

Alvernia continues the non-conference schedule at Penn State-Abington on Saturday.
