Bainbridge Scores Four, Moves To Second In Career Points

Reading, Pa. (Apr. 13, 2013) - Senior Allison Bainbridge (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) scored a game-high four goals and moved into second place on the career points list as Alvernia University (6-5-1, 3-1) defeated Hood College (3-8, 0-5) 15-2 Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Conference women's lacrosse action at Schlager Memorial Field.

Bainbridge scored the second goal of the game and assisted on a goal by Alyssa Verrillo (North Wales, Pa./Archbishop Wood) to tie Felicia Sippel (2008-11) with 248 career points.  She scored the final goal of the first half as the Crusaders took a 9-0 lead into the break, and added two more goals in the second half.  She trails all-time leader Sarah George (2009-12) by 27 points with four games remaining on the regular-season schedule.

Verrillo finished with three goals and an assist.  Fellow senior Vicki Kearn (Merrick, N.Y./Sanford H. Calhoun) made four saves in 44 minutes to pick up the win.

Alvernia returns to action next Wednesday at Lebanon Valley College.
