Reading, Pa. (April 3, 2013) - Crusader goalie Victoria Kearn (Merrick, NY/Sanford Calhoun) made 11 saves, including some at point blank range as Alvernia (5-4-1, 2-0) defeated host Albright College (7-2, 1-1) this evening in Commonwealth Conference action. Julie Sutton (Sewell, NJ/Clearview) led Alvernia with six goals while Allison Bainbridge (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) added five.

Alvernia outscored the Lions 10-6 in the first half despite falling behind 3-2 early in the game. After Bainbridge tied the game at three at 18:37, the Crusaders netted seven of the next ten goals of the game, including five of the last six to close out the first half. Bainbridge scored four of her five goals in the first half, scoring back-to-back goals twice.

The second half was more of the same as the Crusaders outscored Albright 8-3 to cruise to the 18-9 victory.

Alvernia is back in action on Sat. April 6th when they travel to Stevenson for another conference match-up.
