BOX SCORE Freeport, N.Y. (Nov. 1, 2014) - Alvernia University scored three goals in the third period and avenged an earlier-season loss with a 5-4 win over Farmingdale State Saturday evening in ACHA Atlantic Region Ice Hockey action.

Patrick Murray was outstanding in net for the Crusaders making 42 saves on 46 shots to earn the win.
The Crusaders first two goals of the night came shorthanded as
Scott Dressler beat the Farmingdale goalie on a breakaway to the glove side.Â
Nico Delgiorno added a shorthanded goal in the second period and the game was tied at 2-2 after two.
Delgiorno scored his second of the game in the third period on the power play from just below the left face off circle.Â
Jim McKelvie and
Brian Callahan added a goal apiece and the Crusaders enjoyed a 5-2 lead. Farmingdale was able to net a pair fo pull within one at 5-4, but Murray kept them out of the net short of the final horn.
ACHA Division III Rankings will be released Thursday, November 6th for the first ranking period. Look for the Crusaders to hold a Top 10 position and hopefully maintain into the second ranking period in December.
