Trio Of Hat Tricks Leads Alvernia To 12-10 Win Over Mt. St. Mary

Manning, Reid, Toll Score Three Each

Reading, Pa. (Mar. 1, 2014) - Alvernia University (1-1) got 3-goal games from three different players in a 12-10 win over Mt. St. Mary College (0-1) Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Alvernia.

Rick Reid (Drexel Hill, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) scored all three of his goals in the fourth quarter including the last two goals of the game.  He scored at 4:15 assisted by Benajmin Manning (Perkiomenville, Pa./Boyertown) to break a 10-10 tie then netted an insurance goal unassisted 40 seconds later.

Jared Toll (St. Catherines, Ontario/Lewisburg) scored in the first quarter and the first two goals of the second quarter.  Manning was the third player with a hat trick scoring once each in the second, third, and fourth quarters.

Junior goalie Brandon Weaver (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) was spectacular in net for the Crusaders making 13 saves in the win.

Alvernia will host Arcadia University on Wednesday.
