Colin Gallagher (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) ripped home the game-winner in the third overtime giving Alvernia University (2-5) a 12-11 win Wednesday afternoon in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Bryn Athyn.
Bryn Athyn build a 7-3 lead at the halftime break, but Alvernia stormed back with five goals in the third holding Bryn Athyn to just one for a tie score, 8-8, after three quarters.
Gallagher scored the first goal of the third quarter for the Crusaders then
Jared Toll (St. Catherines, Ontario/Lewisburg Area) and
Patrick Corcoran (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) scored back-to-back seperated by just six seconds of game time.Â
Benjamin Manning (Perkiomenville, Pa./Boyertown) scored a minute later to tie the score at 7-all, and Toll scored his second goal of the quarter--and fifth straight for the Crusaders for an 8-7 lead.

Bryn Athyn scored the first goal of the fourth quarter, but Manning tallied two straight to give the lead back to the guests. Gallagher answered another Bryn Athyn goal with just under five minutes to play giving Alvernia a 11-10 lead, and Travis McCurdy scored an unassisted goal for the Lions with 39 seconds left to force overtime.

Brandon Weaver (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) was unchallenged in the first extra period and made two saves in the second overtime. He added three more--and 21 for the game--in the third overtime before Gallagher scored the game-winner.
Alvernia continues the non-conference schedule this Saturday at Rosemont.
