Brooke Campione (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) scored four goals each and Alvernia University (7-3) won its seventh straight with a 19-7 win over King's College (2-5) Monday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Alvernia.
The Monarchs put an early shock in the Crusaders scoring two of the game's first three goals for an early 2-1 lead. Campione scored two goals during a run of seven straight for the hosts who took an 8-2 lead. King's answered with back-to-back goals and Strange scored four seconds before the half for a 9-4 score at the break.
Alvernia opened the second half with two more goals and seven of the first eight to pull ahead by a comfortable 16-5 margin.
Colleen Reilly (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) made six saves in the win.
Alvernia returns to the conference schedule when it hosts Lebanon Valley on Wednesday.
