Grantham, Pa. (Apr. 26, 2014) - Messiah College (7-8, 4-4) defeated Alvernia University (2-15, 0-8) by a 20-2 final Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Conference men's lacrosse action at Messiah.

The Falcons scored the first three goals of the game before Brett Gardels (Hartly, Del./Ceaser Rodney) scored his first goal of the season to put the Crusaders on the board.  Alvernia got another first-quarter goal from Colin Gallagher (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson), his 27th of the season.

Messiah scored six goals in the second, six in the third, and closed the scoring with three in the fourth.

Alvernia played a trio of goalies led by Brandon Weaver (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) who made 11 saves through the first three quarters.

Saturday's game concludes the season for Alvernia.
