BOX SCORE Bryn Athyn, Pa. (Mar. 23, 2016) - Bryn Athyn (2-1) scored six goals in the second quarter and added seven more in the third in a 17-8 win over Alvernia University (2-6) Wednesday afternoon in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Bryn Athyn.

The Lions scored the only two goals of the first quarter then scored the first five in the second for a 7-0 lead.  Benjamin Manning put the Crusaders on the board on a goal with four minutes left in the quarter, but Bryn Athyn got it back for an 8-1 lead at the halftime break.

The Bryn Athyn lead hit 12-1 as the Lions scored the first four goals of the third quarter then the teams both scored three each over the final 10 minutes of the quarter.  Alvernia was able to pull a little closer with a 4-2 win in the fourth.

Freshman Jarret Abernethy led the Crusaders with three goals and has hat tricks in three straight games.

Kyle Augustine made nine saves in net for Alvernia.

The Crusaders have 10 days off before returning to action next Saturday at Wilkes.
