Gettysburg, Pa. (Nov. 9, 2019) - Alvernia University had three wrestlers make finals and Palmer Rodenhaber took first place at 285 as the Golden Wolves finished in third place with 73.5 points at the Gettysburg Invitational Saturday.

Ali Capobianco finished runner-up at 197 and Chase Smith was runner-up at 174.

"Overall, this young team improved from last week to this week," said Alvernia head coach Kriss Bellanca.  "We battled through tough competition and competed to the best of our ability. Alvernia Wrestling will continue to strive toward being quickly relevant.  The coaching staff is very proud and grateful for their efforts today."

The wrestling team, in just their second ever meet, has latched onto the team hashtag of #QuicklyRelevant and is backing that up finishing just six points behind the host Bullets.

The Wolves return home for a good test with conference foe Wilkes University coming to Reading for a dual match on Wednesday--the first ever home event for Alvernia Wrestling.
