Wildcats Run By Golden Wolves, 23-9

BOX SCORE Haines City, Florida (March 5, 2020) - Johnson and Wales (1-2) jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back in a 23-9 win over Alvernia University (2-2) as part of Alvernia's spring break trip down to Haines City, Florida.

The Wildcats scored the opening four goals of the game, including two within 40 seconds of each other by Tyler Drago.

Alvernia got on the board with a goal Zach Bowman with 6:32 remaining in the first quarter and cut the Wildcat's lead down to 4-2 with a goal from Timothy Bailey three minutes later. But, the Wildcats would go on to score the final four goals of the first quarter to lead 8-2 going into the second. 

Sam St. Croix opened the second quarter scoring to make it 8-3, with the Wildcats went on a 6-0 run over eight minutes to jump out to a 14-3 lead.

Both teams traded goals in the final minutes of the first half, with Johnson and Wales holding a 15-5 advantage going into the break.

The Wildcats outscored the Golden Wolves 4-2 in both the third and fourth quarters to solidfy the 23-9 win.

Bowman, Bailey, and Jackson Fonseca eac finished with two goals 

Alvernia returns home on Wednesday, March 11th for a non-conference game against Rosemont.
