Alvernia Takes on Bucknell and Middlesex

Reading, Pa. (April 16, 2023) - Alvernia University Men's and Women's Track and Field split up this weekend, taking on the Bucknell and Middlesex Invitationals.

On the women's side, Cera Gaston led Alvernia with a first place finish in the open 5,000m with a school record time of 18:05.78. Anthony Roselli was the top finisher on the men's side with a 47th place finish in the 3,000m steeple with a time of 9:47.58

At Middlesex, Caitlin Sternberg and Isabella Lesko both had 12th place finishes to lead Alvernia's women. Sternberg took 12th in the 100m hurdles with a personal record time of 17.70. Lesko took 12th in discus with a PR throw of 25.80m. The women's 4x100m relay team took second place with a time of 52.34.

On the men's side, Kevin Kazokas as the top finisher on the track and Giovanni Rivera-Jusino was the top finisher in the field Kazokas took 20th in the 100m with a time of 11.88 seconds, and Rivera-Jusnio took 16th place in the shot put with a mark of 10.01m.

Alvernia is back in action on Friday at Widener.
