Golden Wolves Compete at Final Qualifier

Chester, Pa. (May 16, 2023) - A small group of Alvernia Track and Field student-athletes competed at the Widener Final Qualifier on Monday at Widener University.

Shinelle Felix took second in the long jump with a mark of 5.56 meters. Caitlin Sternberg took two top-ten finishes. Sternberg finished ninth in the 100m hurdles with a personal record time of 16.79 seconds. She also took eighth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:11.98.

On the men's side, Kyle Schermerhorn set a new PR in the 5,000m with a time of 15:42.63. Giovanni Rivera-Jusino competed in both the discus and shot put for Alvernia. He took 15th in the discus with a mark of 37.36m and took 17th in the shot with a mark of 10.19m.

Alvernia is back in action at the AARTFC Regional at Susquehanna University beginning on Wednedsay.
