Rochester, NY (May 25, 2023) - Alvernia University Women's Track and Field junior Shinelle Felix competed in the long jump on Thursday in her first of two events at the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship at St. John Fisher University.

Felix was seeded 21st coming into the championship, but rose ten spots to take 11th overall with a jump of 5.68m.

Felix started her round off with a jump of 5.45m and would foul her second attempt. She came up big though in her third attempt with a jump of 5.68m. She narrowly missed a spot in the finals, with the cut of the top nine coming in at 5.73m.

Felix will be back in action on Saturday morning for the triple jump.
