Golden Wolves Take on Will Abele Open

Collegeville, Pa. (Jan. 14, 2024) - After nearly a month off for the winter break, Alvernia Women's Wrestling returned to action on Sunday at the Ursinus College Will Abele Open. 

Alvernia finished in 16th place and East Stroudsburg University took first place with 55 team points and four first place finishers.

Highlights and full results from Sunday's Invitational are below.

Highlights:
  • Nevaeh Blevins picked up a first round pin over Cedar Crest's Lauren Jackson in 1:02 at 101 lbs
  • Abbigail Kohl, competing in her first match for the Golden Wolves, picked up a pin in 1:56 over Drexel's Dorothea West in the Consolation round of 16.
  • Kohl narrowly dropped a 12-6 decision in the consolation round of 8.
  • Kayleigh Kehler was edged out, 9-2, in the first round of consolation at 191 lbs.

  • Alvernia returns to action on January 28th for the Pennsylvania Collegiate State Championships at East Stroudsburg.
