Golden Wolves Take Second at the Battle of Bulle Rock

Harve de Grace, Md. (October 17, 2024) - Alvernia University took second at the Battle of Bulle Rock Wednesday afternoon in women's golf action at Bulle Rock Golf Club hosted by Alvernia. 

The Golden Wolves posted a day two score of 334 to finish with a two day score of 664 (330/334). Alvernia finished 13 strokes behind Christopher Newport, who took home the team title. Alvernia's team win streak ended at six events with the second place finish and senior McKylie Boreman led the way for the Golden Wolves with a fourth place finish. 

How it Happened 
  • McKylie Boreman led the way for the Golden Wolves and recorded a day two score of 82. Boreman carded three pars in her first five holes but then recorded two bogeys and a double. Boreman then carded a par at the ninth to post a 42 on the front nine. Boreman then responded with three straight pars but then recorded a double at the 13th. Boreman then finished her round with three pars in her final five holes to card a 40 on the back and post a 82 on the day. Boreman finished in solo fourth place with a two day total of 161 (79/82). 
  • Katie Lapinsky recorded an 82 in round two and finished in solo sixth place with a two day total of 163 (83/82). Lapinsky started her day with a par at the first but then posted a double at the second. Lapinsky bounced back with a birdie at the par three third and a par at the fourth before carding big numbers on four straight holes. Lapinsky then birdied the ninth to post a 42 on the front nine. She then made the turn and carded another birdie on the tenth but then saw three straight bogeys on 11-13. Lapinsky then ended her round with three pars in five holes to post a 40 on the back nine and an 82 on the day. 
  • Cassidy Miksich recorded a round two score of 81 and finished in ninth place. Miksich started her day with four straight pars but then posted back to back big numbers at five and six. She then responded with three straight pars to finish the front nine and post a 41 on the front nine. Miksich then pared the tenth but went back to back with big numbers again at 11 and 12 but bounced back with a par at 13, a birdie at 14 and then pars at 15, 17 and 18 to post a 40 on the back and an 81 on the day. 
  • Emmerson Bartley recorded a day two score of 89 and finished in a tie for 15th with a two day total of 174 (85/89). Bartley carded two pars on the front nine but had big numbers plague her front nine as she carded a 46. Bartley then recorded four pars on the back nine but big numbers again hampered her back nine as she carded a 43 on the back to post an 89 on the day. 
  • Rylee Stenzel wrapped up the scores for the Golden Wolves with a day two score of 95 and finished with a two day total of 184 (89/95). Stenzel tallied two big numbers to start her round but then bounced back with back to back pars at three and four. Stenzel then carded just one par in her final five holes on the front nine to post a 45 on the front nine. Stenzel then birdied the tenth but carded big numbers on the final eight holes to post a 50 on the back and card a 95 overall. Stenzel finished in a tie for 26th.
