Boreman, Alvernia In First Following Day One of Kutztown Invitational

Fleetwood, PA (Oct. 6, 2024) - Alvernia Women's Golf graduate student McKylie Boreman fired a 2-over 72 to pace Alvernia on the first day of the two-day Kutztown Invitational on Sunday at Moselem Springs.

Boreman's round of 72 has her in first place overall in the field of 40 golfers, and she has a five-stroke lead heading into Monday.

Alvernia shot a team score of 316. The Golden Wolves hold a one-stroke lead over Millersville heading into day two on Monday.

Boreman had matching 36s on both the front and back nine for her round of 72. She finished the front nine with eight pars and a bogey, and moved back to even par following a birdie on the 10th. She posted six more pars on the back nine, along with two more bogeys, for her round of 72.

Katie Lapinsky finished in second for Alvernia and is in seventh overall following a round of 80 on Sunday. Lapinsky had two birdies and six pars on her day. She finished her round with three pars over her final four holes.

Cassidy Miksich finished in third for Alvernia on day one and is in four-way tie for eighth heading into Monday. Miksich shot an 81 on Sunday. She finished with eight pars and had a birdie on the par five 12th hole - a 450-yard par and the longest hole of the day.

Grace Spielman was Alvernia's final counting score on Sunday. Spielman shot an 83 for her third round of 83 or better this season. Spielman finished her day with six pars.

Rylee Stenzel finished in fifth for Alvernia on Sunday and is in a tie for 18th overall with a round of 85. Stenzel also finished with six pars.

Alvernia is back at Moselem Springs on Monday morning for the final day of the Kutztown Invitational. Alvernia is then home on Tuesday for its Fall Invitational at LedgeRock.
