Alvernia Goes 3-2 to Open Wildcat Invite

Wilmington, Del. (Feb.16, 2024) - Alvernia University went 3-2 on Friday to open up its showing at the three-day Wilmington University Wildcat Invitational.

Alvernia picked up Baker wins against Daemen University, Caldwell University, and D'Youville University. The Golden Wolves dropped games to Felician University and Emmanuel University.

Results
  • Alvernia dropped its opening match of the day to Felician University, 945-905. Reaghan Smith led Alvernia in the Baker format game with a score of 190 over five games.
  • The Golden Wolves then fell to Emmanuel University 1049-865. Alvernia posted a 214 in the final game, but it was not enough to overcome Emmanuel's fast start. Mia Siminiuts led Alvernia against Emmanuel with a score of 196.
  • The Golden Wolves got on track in its third match of the day with a narrow 911-908 win against Daemen University. Alvernia used a 202 in game four to edge Daemen. Morgan Dupont led the Golden Wolves with a 217.
  • Alvernia then picked up a 1,025-919 win over Caldwell University. Alvernia posted three straight games over 200 - including a 237 in game two - to start the match en route to the 1,025.
  • Alvernia closed out the day with an 849-820 win over D'Youville University. Frankie Kelly led Alvernia with a 183.

  • Alvernia is back at Wilmington for day two of the Wildcat Invitational on Saturday. Alvernia will compete in five traditional games. Total pins from both Friday and Saturday will determining bracket seeding for Sunday.
