Eight Finish Top-Eight at Susquehanna

Selinsgrove, Pa. (Feb. 17, 2024) - Alvernia University Women's Track and Field made the trip to Susquehanna on Saturday to compete at the Susquehanna Tune-Up prior to the MAC Championship next weekend.

Alvernia had eight top-eight finishes on Saturday, including a second place finish by Shinelle Felix in the long jump. The Golden Wolves also had seven new personal records set.

Highlights

Caitlin Sternberg took fifth place in the 60m hurdles with a season-best mark of 9.91
Akilah Hoxter took eighth in the 60m with a time of 8.54. Hoxter also took fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 9.91m.
Rosnelly Sanchez De Aza and Jessie Torres went 4th/5th in the 800m. Sanchez De Aza set a new personal record with a time of 2:26.63 for a fourth place finish. Torress was right with her for a fifth place finish and time of 2:26.64.
Shinelle Felix took second in the long jump with a mark of 5.18m. She also took sixth in the shot put with a personal record throw of 10.74m.
Mylina Castillo took fifth place in the long jump with a mark of 4.79m
