Alvernia Goes 5-0 on Saturday to Lead AMCC Round Robin #2

New Jersey City, NJ (Feb. 3, 2024) - Alvernia University went 5-0 on the second day of the AMCC Round Robin #2 to take the solo lead in the three day tournament at New Jersey City University. 

Alvernia is the only team to remain undefeated through the first seven matches of the tournament. 

Results
  • Alvernia started its day with an 847-782 win over Hilbert College. Emily Huntley led Alvernia with a 182 in the win over Hilbert.
  • Alvernia then took down Saint Vincent College, 842-829. Saint Vincent handed Alvernia its only loss in the first AMCC Round Robin back in November. Mia Siminitus led Alvernia against Saint Vincent with a 186,
  • The Golden Wolves kept it rolling in its third match of the day, taking down the host Gothic Knights 876-817. Morgan DuPont led the Golden Wolves with a 205 against NJCU.
  • The Golden Wolves then defeated Penn State Altoona 850-695 in its fourth match of the afternoon. Reaghan Smith led Alvernia with a 202 for Alvernia's second 200+ game of the afternoon. 
  • Alvernia capped off the day with a dominating 927-663 win over Mount Aloysius. Smith put up a massive 236 to lead Alvernia in its fifth match of the day. Siminitus also surpassed the 200 mark with a game of 209. 
Of Note
  • Three of the top four individual bowlers in the standings are Golden Wolves, and all five of Alvernia's bowlers rank in the top seven in scoring average. Smith is leading the way through two days and seven games with an average of 182.57.

  • Alvernia closes out the AMCC Round Robin tomorrow. The Golden Wolves will take on Pitt-Bradford, Williams Smith, and PSU Behrend on Sunday.
