Alvernia Finishes Third at AMCC Round Robin #2

Jersey City, NJ (Feb. 4, 2024) - Alvernia University went 8-2 overall and finished third in the AMCC Round Robin #2 to secure a trip to the AMCC Championship in late March

The results of this weekend's AMCC Round Robin were combined with the results of the first round robin held back in November to determine the six teams that would compete at the AMCC Championship at the end of March. Alvernia finished tied for first back in November and finished in third place this weekend to secure its spot. The Golden Wolves will be the #3 seed in the championship.

Results
  • Alvernia started its day with a 953-746 win over Pitt-Bradford to improve to 8-0 on the tournament. Frankie Kelly led Alvernia against Bradford with a 254. Morgan DuPont also broke the 200 threshold with a game of 203.
  • After a bye, Alvernia dropped its first match of the tournament with a 963-828 loss to William Smith. Mia Siminitus led Alvernia with a 213.
  • Alvernia dropped its final match of the tournament, 805-776, to Penn State Behrend. Reaghan Smith led the Golden Wolves with a round of 172.

Of Note
  • Siminitus finished third in individual rankings with a ten-game average of 181.8.
  • All five of Alvernia's bowlers finished in the top-14 amongst a field of 69 bowlers.
  • Saint Vincent College won the AMCC Round Robin #2 with a 9-1 overall record and a total pinfall of 8,752. Saint Vincent will be the #1 seed in the AMCC Championship in March. Alvernia was Saint Vincent's only loss.
