Boreman, Alvernia Atop the Leaderboard Following First Day of Millersville Invitational

Kutztown, PA (Sept. 23, 2024) - McKylie Boreman fired a 1-over 73 to pace Alvernia University to a team score of 324 on Monday on day one of the Millersville University Invitational at Berkleigh Country Club.

Boreman's 73 has her in a tie for first place with Shepherd's Sara Veara. Alvernia's team score of 324 has the Golden Wolves in the lead in the field of all Division II teams. Alvernia is four strokes ahead of Bloomsburg's 328.

Boreman carded three birdies on her round. She birdied the par three 3rd hole, par three 15th, and par four 17th. She had 11 pars on her round and fired an even 37 on the back nine. Boreman and Veara have a two-stroke lead over the field of 48 golfers.

Katie Lapinsky is in second for Alvernia and in fifth overall with a round of 79. Lapinsky was 6-over on the front nine before settling in on the back nine. Lapinsky birdied the 10th and 12th holes, but gave three back over 14, 15, and 16. She finished her round with eight pars.

Emmerson Bartley is in third for Alvernia and in 15th overall with a round of 85. Bartley had seven pars and a birdie on her round.

Cassidy Miksich's was Alvernia's final counting score of the day. Miksich shot an 87 and is in 20th overall. Miksich had nine pars on her day.

Rylee Stenzel finished in fifth for Alvernia and is in 30th overall following a round of 90 on Monday. Her round was highlighted by four pars.

Alvernia and Boreman are back at Berkleigh tomorrow looking to stay atop the leaderboard for the final day of the Millersville Invitational.
