Boreman Takes Home Low Medalist Honors, Golden Wolves Break Team Record

Kutztown, Pa (September 24, 2024) - Alvernia University rebroke its team score record of 303 with a round of 302 Tuesday and also took home the team title at the Millersville Fall Invitational  at Berkleigh Golf Club. 

McKylie Boreman came home with low medalist honors, her third consecutive victory in as many tournaments and Katie Lapinksy grabbed third place. 

How it Happened 
 
  • Boreman started her day with four pars and a bogey in her first five holes. She then birdied the par three sixth to get back to even par. Boreman then carded back to back bogeys but a birdie at the ninth saw her post a one over 36 on the front nine. Boreman then ripped off eight straight pars on her back nine before a bogey at the 18th saw her record a one over 38 on the back and a two over 74 on the round to secure low medalist honors. Boreman finished with a two day total of 147 (+3). 
  • Katie Lapinsky fired in the low round of the day for the Golden Wolves with a one under 71 in the final round of the tournament and finished in a tie for third place. Lapinsky started with two pars to start her round but a bogey and then a double saw her jump to three over early. She then carded three pars and two birdies in her final five holes on the front nine to post a one over 36. Lapinsky kept the birdie train going with one on the tenth and then tallied two pars before a bogey at the 13th. She bounced right back yet again with a birdie at the 14th and then recorded three pars before ending her round with a birdie three on the 18th to post a 35 on the back and fire in a one under 71. Lapinsky's under par round is her second consecutive round under par after posting a round of 70 at the Vulcan Invitational last week. 
  • Cassidy Miksich recorded the third best score for the Golden Wolves in round two with a 78 and finished in 16th place. Miksich started her day on hole two and carded four pars and two bogeys in her first six holes. She then recorded back to back bogeys before making the turn to the back nine. Miksich then jumped back on the par train with three in a row but a double on 13 ended the par streak. She bounced back with a par at 14 and then a birdie on 15 but two bogeys in her final three holes on the back nine saw her card a 40. Miksich then went back to the first hole to finish her round and carded a birdie three to post a 38 on the front and a 78 overall to secure 16th place. 
  • Emmerson Bartley rounded out the counting scores for the Golden Wolves and recorded a 79 on day two and finished in 15th place. Bartley started on the third hole and tallied three pars and a birdie in her first four holes before a double on the seventh. Bartley bounced back with back to back pars at eight and nine as she made the turn to the back nine. She carded two pars and a bogey to start her back nine but she bounced back with three pars and a birdie before recording a double on the 18th to post a 40 on the back. Bartley then recorded a par and a bogey on one and two to round out her round with a 39 on the front and a 79 for the round. 
  • Rylee Stenzel was the final Golden Wolf to compete on Tuesday and recorded a final round score of 81 to finish in a tie for 23rd place. Stenzel started on the fourth hole and tallied a few bogeys in her first few holes before carding back to back pars heading into the back nine. Stenzel then carded three pars in her first five holes on the back and then tallied par on two of the final three holes on the back nine to post a 42 on the back. Stenzel then headed back to the front nine to finish her round and recorded two pars in her final three holes to card a 39 on the front and post an 81 on the round.
