Fleetwood, PA (Sept. 29, 2024) - Alvernia Men's Golf shot a team score of 311 on the first day of the two-day Arcadia Invitational at Golden Oaks Golf Club on Sunday. The Golden Wolves are in fourth place overall in the field of nine teams.

Both Shawn Williams and Jackson Hoovler are tied for fifth place in the field of 48 after each shooting a 2-over 74. Williams finished with three birdies and 12 pars. Hoovler had three birdies and ten pars. Both Hoovler and Williams had even 36's on the back nine to close out their respective rounds. 

Matthew Gagliardi finished in third for Alvernia on day one and is in a tie for 28th overall. Gagliardi shot a 9-over 81 on day one. Gagliardi finished with three birdies on his round - including a birdie on the 1st hole. He also had eight pars.

In fourth for Alvernia and in a tie for 32nd overall on day one was Jakob Chapman with a round of 10-over 82. Chapman finished with ten pars. 

Kenton Lightburn was Alvernia's fifth score of the day. Lightburn shot a 14-over 86 and is in a tie for 41st place. Lightburn had one birdie and six pars.

Drew University shot a team score of 2-over 290 and have a 12 stroke lead over Albright heading into Monday. Drew's Elliot Parker fired a 5-under 67 and has a six stroke lead over St. Vincent's Matthew Edwards.

The Golden Wolves are back in action on Monday for the second and final day of the Arcadia Invitational.
