Golden Wolves, Boreman in Second Through First Day of Arcadia Invitational

Fleetwood, PA (Sept. 29, 2024) - Alvernia Women's Golf shot a team score of 315 on day one of the two-day Arcadia Invitational at Golden Oaks Golf Club on Sunday. The Golden Wolves are in second place overall in the field of five teams.

McKylie Boreman led Alvernia on day one with a 2-over 74. She is in second place and three strokes back of Marymount's Noelle Jensen, who shot a 1-under 71. Boreman was 1-under through the front nine with a birdie on the par four 4th hole. But, she then had bogeys on three of the first five holes of the back nine to move to 2-over. Boreman birdied the short par four 16th to move back to 1-over, but she bogeyed the 17th hole to give the stroke back. Boreman closed out the round with a par on the 18th for the round of 2-over 74 to sit in second place.

Both Emmerson Bartley and Rylee Stenzel had rounds of 8-over 80 and are in a tie for fifth place. Bartley was 9-over as she approached the 18th hole, but was able to birdie the final hole of the day to move to 8-under. Rylee Stenzel played a clean final three holes to finish at 8-over and had 10 pars on her day.

Cassidy Miksich finished one stroke back of Bartley and Stenzel with a round of 81 to finish in a tie for ninth. Miksich had eight pars and a birdie on the par four 16th to highlight her day. 

Grace Spielman finished in fifth for Alvernia with a round of 90 and is in 23rd overall. Katie Lapinsky finished one stroke back and is in 24th heading into Monday with a round of 91.

Paige Damon and Autumn Wolf rounded out Alvernia's appearance on day one. Damon is in a tie for 25th following a round of 92. Damon had two birdies on the back nine - one on the par three 15th, and the other on 18. Wolf is in a tie for 33rd following a round of 102.

Alvernia is back at Golden Oaks tomorrow for the final round of the Arcadia Invitational. Alvernia is six strokes back of Marymount, who shot a 309 on day one. The Golden Wolves are 31 strokes ahead of 3rd place Bloomsburg.
