Hoovler Takes Second, Williams Takes Fifth at Alvernia’s Home Invitational

Mohnton, Pa (April 1, 2025) - Alvernia University recorded a fourth place finish behind a second place finish by Jackson Hoovler and a fifth place finish by Shawn Williams Tuesday afternoon at Alvernia's Spring Invitational at LedgeRock Golf Club.

The Golden Wolves finished in fourth place with a two day total of 646 (317/329).

How it Happened

Jackson Hoovler led the way and fired in a second consecutive round of 74 to seal up second place honors with a two day total of 148 (74/74). Hoovler recorded four birdies on the day and eight total pars en route to the two over, 74. Hoovler bested Dickinson's Collin McMahon-Shea over the two day event, who is the #12 ranked men's golfer in DIII per Clippd.
Shawn Williams recorded a fifth place finish for the Golden Wolves and carded an 80 in round two and a two day total of 155 (75/80). Williams tallied two birdies and seven pars on the day and recorded his sixth straight top ten finish dating back to the fall season.
Matthew Gagliardi recorded a day two score of 85 and finished in a tie for 32nd place. Gagliardi tallied a two day total of 169 (84/85) and recorded eight pars on the day.
Matt Davies carded an 89 in round two and finished in 41st place. Davies recorded a two day total of 174 (85/89) and carded four pars in round two.
Kenton Lightburn finished in a tie for 42nd place after a round two score of 92. Lightburn recorded a two day total of 175 (83/92) and carded five pars on the day.
Jakob Chapman rounded out the scores for the Golden Wolves and finished in a tie for 45th place. Chapman recorded a two day total of 178 (92/86) and recorded nine pars on Tuesday.
