Alvernia Competes at Rochester’s Fred Kravetz Invitational

Rochester, N.Y. (April 11, 2025) - Jackson Hoovler led the Golden Wolves on day one of the Fred B. Kravetz Invitational Friday at Irondequoit Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.

Alvernia finished with a day one team total of 330 and is in sixth place.

Jackson Hoovler led the Golden Wolves on day one of the invitational and carded a day one score of 75. Hoovler started his day with a birdie at the fourth and carded 13 pars on the day but back to back bogeys at seven and eight and 17 and 18 saw him drop to three over and post a 75. Hoovler is currently in a tie for seventh place with eight other golfers including Methodist's Chase Walts who is the #3 ranked golfer in DIII per Clippd.

Matt Davies recorded a day one score of 82 and is in a tie for 33rd place. Davies carded a par at the par five third and tallied 11 pars on the day en route to the 82.

Shawn Williams carded an 84 in round one and is currently in 36th place. Williams recorded ten pars on the day but bogeys and big numbers plagued his round leading to the day one score of 84.

Jakob Chapman played as an individual for the Golden Wolves and carded a day one score of 86. Chapman carded eight pars on the day but also had big numbers derail his round early on and is currently in 37th place.

Matthew Gagliardi carded an 89 in round one of the tournament and carded two pars but also carded bogeys that would plague his round. Gagliardi is in 38th place after day one.

Kenton Lightburn rounded out the scores for the Golden Wolves with a 93 on day one. Lightburn carded four pars on the day and is in 39th place.

The Golden Wolves are back at it tomorrow for round two of the invitational at Oak Hill Country Club.
