Tirado Leads Golden Wolves at Messiah

Grantham, Pa. (Apr. 12, 2025) - Alvernia Men's Track and Field posted six top-ten finishes and set seven new personal-records at the Messiah Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Leo Tirado was Alvernia's top-finisher of the day, taking second place in the high jump with a mark of 1.82m. On the track, Alvernia had a trio of eighth place finishers. Caleb Auzenne took eighth in the 100m with a final mark of 11.44 seconds. That, along with his preliminary time of 11.40 seconds, set a new personal-record for Auzenne. Anthony Downs took eighth in the 200m with a time of 22.77 seconds, and Zackary Wendel took eighth in the 800m with a time of 2:01.02.

Andrew Simmons also grabbed a top-ten finish, taking ninth in the 100m with a time of 11.41 seconds. Ethan Marcin rounded out Alvernia's top-ten finishes on the track, taking tenth in the 110m hurdles with a new personal record time of 16.91 seconds. Along with his eighth place finish and PR in the 100m, Auzenne posted a new PR in the 200m with a time of 23.19 seconds.

All three of Alvernia's long jumpers set new personal-records on Saturday. Andrew LeClair led the way with a 16th place finish on a mark of 5.88m, and Joel Thomas took 17th with a mark of 5.85m. Quinn Harter rounded things out with a mark of 5.13m. Aidan Chumas also set a new personal-record in the javelin with a throw of 39.69 meters.

Men's Track and Field is back in action on Wednesday for the mid-week York College Twilight Meet.
