Alvernia in First After Day One of the 2025 MAC Women’s Golf Championships

Fleetwood, Pa (April 26, 2025) - Alvernia University has three women's golfers in the top ten after day one of the 2025 MAC Women's Golf Championships Saturday at Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pa.

The Golden Wolves also hold a six shot lead in the team race over York College. Alvernia posted a day one score of 311 with the Spartans recording a score of 316.

How it Happened
  • McKylie Boreman is in a tie for first place after a day one score of 75. Boreman ripped off eight pars in her first nine holes with her only hiccup coming on the fifth hole where she carded a bogey. Boreman then rattled off five pars in a row to start her back nine and tallied a birdie at the challenging par four 16th but a bogey at 15 and a double on 18 saw her card a 38 on the back after a 37 on the front and post a 75 on the day.
  • Cassidy Miksich recorded a day one score of 76 and is currently in solo fifth place. Miksich carded a 43 on the front nine after bogeys and big numbers plagued her front nine. But, Miksich flipped the script on the back nine and carded a bogey free, 33 on her second nine and fired in three birdies to right the ship and post a 76 on day one.
  • Katie Lapinsky rounded out the Golden Wolves in the top ten after day one with a seven over, 79. Lapinksy tallied five pars and a birdie on the front nine but two bogeys and a double saw her post a three over, 39 on the front. Lapinsky continued to play solid golf on the back nine and recorded another five pars but four more bogeys put her at a four over, 40 on the back and record a day one score of 79.
  • Emmerson Bartley posted a day one score of 81 and is in a tie for 11th place at the Championship. Bartley recorded four pars on the front nine but five bogeys saw her card a 41 on the first nine. Bartley then made the turn and posted six pars on the back nine but two bogeys and a double on 17 saw her card a 40 on the back for a day one score of 81.
  • Rylee Stenzel rounded out the scores for the Golden Wolves on day one of the Championship and also carded an 81 and a T11 finish. Stenzel carded just three pars on the front nine and saw bogeys plague the start of her round and post a 42 on the front. Stenzel then bounced back with a birdie on the tenth and five pars in her next eight holes but two bogeys and a double pushed her to a three over, 39 on the back nine and card an 81 on day one.
