Bartley, Golden Wolves Take First at Kutztown

Fleetwood, Pa. (Apr. 6, 2025) - Emmerson Bartley grabbed low-medalist honors and led Alvernia to its second victory of the spring season as the Golden Wolves took first place at the 2025 Kutztown Spring Invitational at Moselem Spring Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania. 

Bartley carded a 9-over 79 to take low-medalist honors, taking first place by a stroke. Her win today marks her first career low-medalist honor as a Golden Wolf.

Alvernia took first place with a team score of 327, taking first place team honors by 16 strokes in the field of Division II teams. Katie Lapinsky finished in a tie for third with a score of 81, and McKylie Boreman took tied for fifth place with a round of 83. Cassidy Miksich was Alvernia's final counting score with a round of 84 for a tie for eighth place. Rylee Stenzel finished in fifth for Alvernia and in 15th overall with a round of 88.

Bartley went 5-over on the front nine, settling in with a par on the eighth hole. That par set up a string of three straight for Bartley. After giving stroke back on the 11th hole, she posted par on three of the next four holes. Bartley then finished her final holes at 2-over for her round of 79.

Lapinsky was even for her first two holes and was 1-over through four. After trouble on the fifth and sixth, Lapinsky posted par on both the seventh and eighth holes. She made the turn at 5-over. After back-to-back bogeys on 10 and 11, Lapinsky carded a birdie on the par five 12th. She finished with two more pars on her day for her round of 11-over 81.

Boreman was 1-under through two with a par on the first and birdie on the second. She gave a stroke back on the third before posting two straight pars. But, Boreman bogeyed the remaining holes on the front nine and finished her day going 9-over on the back nine for her round of 83.

Miksich made the turn at 10-over with three pars on the front nine. Miksich then settled in on the back nine, posting pars on six of her first seven holes on the back nine. Miksich found trouble on the 17th and 18th before finishing her round with a 14-over 84.

Stenzel went 10-over on the front nine with three pars. Stenzel then went 8-over on the back nine with four pars for her round of 88.

Bloomsburg took second with a team score of 343, and Clarion took third with a team score of 347.

Alvernia is back in action on April 13th and 14th for the two-day York College Spartan Spring Invitational. It marks Alvernia's penultimate competition before the 2025 MAC Championship on April 26 and 27.
