Reading, Pa. (April 7, 2025) - Alvernia University senior men's golfer Jackson Hoovler and softball senior Brooke Hauck were named Alvernia Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of March 31 - April 6, 2025. This week's Alvernia Athletes of the Week are presented by Visions Federal Credit Union.

Jackson Hoovler took second place at the two-day Alvernia Invitational. Hoovler posted a two-day score of 148 with back-to-back rounds of 74. On day one, Hoovler posted an even front nine score of 36 with three birdies. He then went 2-over on the challenging back nine of LedgeRock with a birdie and six pars. On Tuesday in cold and windy conditions, Hoovler posted another round of 74. He went 2-under on the front nine with three birdies and five pars. He also had a birdie on the back nine with three pars. 

Brooke Hauck batted .500 for the Golden Wolves on the week, going 7-for-14 with seven runs scored and seven RBIs. In a doubleheader against Misericordia on Tuesday, Hauck combined for 3-for-7 with three runs scored and an RBI. Hauck then had a career-day against Eastern in a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader on Saturday. In game one of the day, Hauck hit two home runs - including a grand slam - going 2-for-3 with two runs scored, six RBIs, and a walk. Hauck then went 2-for-4 in game two with two runs scored.

Men's Golf is back in action on Friday and Saturday at the University of Rochester's Fred Kravetz Invitational. Softball returns to the field on Thursday at Franklin and Marshall College.
