Weather Suspends Play in Round Two of the NCAA DIII Championships

Williamsburg, Va. (May 14, 2025) - Weather played a factor yet again on day two of the 2025 NCAA DIII Women's Golf Championships and suspended play for the second straight day Wednesday at Kingsmill Resort. 

Play was suspended around 4:00 PM due to severe weather in the area and was then officially called for the day around 5:45 PM. Round two will resume tomorrow morning (5/15) at 8:30 PM. After the conclusion of round two, the field will be cut with the top 15 teams and top six individuals whose teams did not make the cut will advance to the championship rounds. Round three will tee off via a shotgun start at 12:30 PM on The River Course. 

Completion of Round One: 

The Golden Wolves completed the rest of their first round Wednesday morning after they were unable to finish round one yesterday due to weather and darkness. 

McKylie Boreman carded a birdie on her first hole of the day which was the 12th and tallied one more birdie on the 15th along with four pars in her final seven holes to card a two over 72 in round one and sat in a tie for tenth after the first round. 

Katie Lapinsky carded four pars in her final seven holes of her first round but carded three bogeys as well to post an eight over 80 in round one. Lapinsky carded 40's on both the front and the back nine in round one. 

Emmerson Bartley carded the third best score for the Golden Wolves in round one and posted an 85. Bartley recorded three pars in her final six holes but two bogeys and a double saw her card a 42 on the back nine after a 43 on the front and post an 85 on the round. 

Cassidy Miksich tallied an 86 in round one and finished her first round with three pars but a few bogeys and a big number saw her card a 44 on the back nine after a 42 on the front and posted an 86 overall. Rylee Stenzel rounded out the scores for the Golden Wolves in round one and posted a 90 on the round. Stenzel recorded a 45 on the back nine and ended her round with a nice birdie on the 18th hole. 

The Golden Wolves recorded a team total of 325 after the first round was completed. 

Round Two: 

Rylee Stenzel and Cassidy Miksich have both finished 12 holes of their second round and Miksich is even par on the round. Miksich started her day with back to back birdies on one and two and has rattled off seven pars as well. Miksich is currently in a tie for 94th and recorded a 37 on the front nine. Stenzel is also through 12 holes and had a string of bogeys on her front nine but has bounced back after a birdie at the ninth and back to back pars at ten and 11. Stenzel is currently in a tie for 142nd and carded a 43 on the front nine. 

Emmerson Bartley played ten holes and posted a 45 on the front nine and is in 133rd place. Bartley carded four pars on the front nine but bogeys and big numbers hampered her round. 

Katie Lapinsky and McKylie Boreman both are through nine holes in round two. Lapinsky carded five pars and one birdie in her first seven holes to post a 40 on her first nine holes of the day. Lapinksy is currently in a tie for 67th.

Boreman is also through nine holes of golf and also carded five pars and a birdie on the front nine but a few big numbers and bogeys plagued her round and saw her post a 41 on the front nine. Boreman is in a tie for 26th place and is currently battling on the individual cutline.
