Reading, Pa. (July 9, 2025) - Alvernia University Men's Lacrosse senior
Dane Sabarese earned Academic All-MAC honors for his performance on the field and in the classroom during the 2025 season, as announced by the Middle Atlantic Conference on Wednesday.
The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a spring semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.
Sabarese, a senior who just completed degrees in Digital Media Marketing and Communication, is one of 14 men's lacrosse student-athletes across the MAC to earn Academic All-MAC honors.Â
Sabarese was the 2025 MAC Commonwealth Goalie of the Year, earning the honor for the second straight season. He was a First Team All-MAC Commonwealth honoree and made 199 saves on the season. He finished the year with a .561 save percentage and an 11.05 goals against average. He also finished the year with 40 ground balls. This is Sabarese's second Academic All-MAC honor.
