Michael Named to NFHCA Watchlist

Colorado Springs, CO (Aug. 28, 2025) - Alvernia University field hockey junior Ava Michael was named to the 2025 NFHCA Watchlist, as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association on Thursday.

The 2025 NFHCA Watchlist consists of 175 student-athletes from 84 Division III institutions. The list is intended to showcase the field hockey student-athletes with the strongest potential for consideration to this season's NFHCA All-Region and All-American teams. To be nominated to the 2025 Watchlist, student-athletes must have been previously recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two seasons.

Michael, a forward, was a 2024 NFHCA Second Team All-Region honoree and a First Team All-MAC Commonwealth honoree last season. Michael finished her sophomore campaign with 14 goals, four assists, and 32 points over 20 games played last season. She had three game-winning goals and had nine multi-point games last year. 

Alvernia opens its 2025 season on Saturday, August 30 with a 1:00 PM home game against Gettysburg.
