Reading, Pa. (Feb. 23, 2026) - Alvernia Women's Lacrosse junior Lindsay Kerchner and Men's Basketball junior Elijah Hamilton were named Alvernia Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of February 15 - February 22, 2026. This week's Alvernia Athletes of the Week are presented by MailShark.

Lindsay Kerchner finished a 1-1 week for Alvernia with 11 points off of eight goals and three assists. Kerchner finished the week with a .714 shot on goal percentage. In a setback to Marymount to open the season, Kerchner finished with two goals off of three shots on goal, and also picked up an assist. She contributed on three of Alvernia's four goals scored on the day. In an 18-3 win over Immaculata on Saturday, Kerchner recorded six goals and two assists. She scored five of her six goals in the first half, including two that were separated by just 17 seconds. 

Elijah Hamilton averaged 29.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Golden Wolves. Hamilton shot 60.5% from the field, going 23-for-38. He also finished the week with four blocks and four assists. In a must win game against Eastern on Tuesday, Hamilton posted 24 points and ten rebounds to lead Alvernia to an 80-57 win. He shot 11-for-18 from the floor and had three assists and three blocks. In an 86-75 win over Messiah on Saturday, Hamilton scored 35 points off of 12-for-20 shooting with an 11-for-13 performance from the free throw line. He also finished with nine rebounds and a block.

Women's Lacrosse is back in action on Wednesday hosting Swarthmore. Men's Basketball returns to the court on Wednesday for the MAC Commonwealth semifinal game against top-seeded Hood.
