Christian Medina were named Alvernia Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of March 16 - March 22, 2026.
Natalie Berwick got the complete game shutout win in the circle for Alvernia in a 3-0 win over Widener on Saturday. Berwick went the distance and scattered just four hits. She walked just two batters and struck out four. Her four strikeouts put her over 100 strikeouts on her career.
Christian Medina broke two Alvernia records in his outdoor track and field debut this weekend at the Virginia Wesleyan Betty S. Rogers Invitational. Medina took first place in the discus with a mark of 42.31 meters to set a new program record by just under two meters. Medina also had a first place finish in the shot put with a mark of 14.90 meters to set another program record for the Golden Wolves, this time by .26 meters. His shot put mark ranks him second in the region, and his discus mark ranks him fifth.Â
Softball is back in action on Wednesday for its home-opener against Lebanon Valley. Track and Field returns on Friday and Saturday for the Widener University Danny Curan Invitational.
